halle 9 _ Premiere: 02/05/2015 _ Oswald, Miltenberg
"halle 9" is a site specific performance taking place in the unique atmosphere of the factory Oswald Elektromotoren. Stamping machines, drills, mills - everything that can be heard in the production of an electric motor is mixed with electronic sounds by DJ Dario Iurilli as well as with the preludes of J.S. Bach. Iurilli captures the mechanical structure within the music, estranges it and weaves the whole into a distinctive and unique score. The interaction between the resulting soundscape and the puristic setting of halle 9 is the source of inspiration for contemporary dancers Judith Nagel, Michael Shapira (Israel) and Jefta Tanate (Netherlands). The atmosphere created by the setting and soundscape is embodied by the dancers through their movement. Each predule, interpreted by Sylvia Ackermann on a historical piano, resembles a small-scale play and the supposed opposites of art and machinery merge into one extraordinary symbiosis.
